ID requirements and authorizations

  1. What documents do I need to bring to do a transaction? Do I need to bring them every time?

Please bring your valid passport, driver’s license, provincial ID or permanent residence card to identify yourself. If you act on behalf of a company, please bring your original company registration and director’s personal ID. We need to check your ID and signature every time, so please make sure you bring your ID every time you visit us.

  1. I do not live in the cities where Guang Hui is located, can I still do transaction through you?

As required by our compliance policy, we need to identify your identity face-to-face to open an account for you.

  1. Do I need to come to your branch to do a transaction every time?

Once you registered with us as a customer, you can arrange transactions through telephone, fax or email. Please contact our friendly staff for more details.

Money exchange and transfer

  1. What currencies are available to trade?

We deal with most of the major currencies, including Chinese Yuan (CNY/RMB), Canadian Dollar (CAD), US Dollar (USD), Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), Euro (EUR), and etc. We provide two way transfer and cash exchange for these major currencies.

  1. How long does it take for my fund to arrive at the receiver’s account?

For Chinese RMB, it takes no more than 24 hours. For other currencies, it takes normally 2-5 business days. Should there be any delay, we will keep you informed.

  1. What is SWIFT code?

Short for “Society Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication”, SWIFT code consists of 8-11 characters, it’s an identifier of a bank worldwide. SWIFT code is recognized as BIC as well. It’s like an ID card number of a bank, which can be retrieved from your bank.

  1. I wired some US dollars overseas, why the receiver received less than what I sent?

For international transfers, receiver’s bank may charge a fee to receive overseas fund, there are possibly intermediate bank charges as well. It impossible for us to predict the exact amount. Please liaise with receiver in advance to avoid misunderstanding.

  1. Can I lock an exchange rate, and not doing the transaction until later?

Most of the time, we will require you make a 10% deposit when you want to lock an exchange rate to do a future transaction. Please contact our friendly staff to negotiate the locking terms.

Returned remittance

  1. I made a mistake when I provided the receiver’s account details, what can I do?

Please contact us immediately. We will check whether the fund has been returned, then we can send again with correct details.

  1. Does exchange rate change in this situation?

No. We will still use the exchange rate of first transfer.

  1. Do I get charged again for resending?

Yes., the same TT fee would apply.

  1. If I don’t want to resend, can I get my money back?

Yes, you can. However since the money has been converted to another currency, we will use the exchange rate at time of request to convert the money back to original currency and then issue it to you in the orginal payment method.

  1. What are the common remittance return reasons?

Wrong account details is the most common reason, including wrong account name, account number, etc. It could also be returned when the account was suspended, or the account is a term deposit account. Please double check with your receiver, and make sure you give us the correct account details before conducting a transaction.
